Objectives in accordance with the statute

POLYMET Jena association is a spin-off of Friedrich Schiller University of Jena with the objective of multidisciplinary research of natural polymers (nanocellulose) and their applications in medicine and technology, of photo- and electro-active polymers as well as polymers for optics, adhesives, and blends. The specificity is the promotion of cooperation with universities and companies to develop the results of basic research in chemistry, material sciences, biology, and medicine for the application of novel polymer materials.
By building own research capabilities, the conditions for applied research on the utilization of new products and technologies are created.

Furthermore POLYMET Jena sees it as his task in scientific education and training in cooperation with the Friedrich Schiller University and the University of Applied Sciences of Jena to take effect.
